New Build Locomotives under construction at Llangollen Railway

In addition to locomotives under heavy maintenance and or repair, Four 'New Build' locomotives are under construction at Llangollen Railway's workshops. This represents the largest concentration of steam locomotives under construction anywhere in the UK (or indeed the world) with an estimated combined value approaching £10M when completed. This tremendous effort will help ensure the availability of steam locomotives for the Nation’s main line and preserved railways into the future as well as bringing unrivalled opportunities for employment and regeneration to the Dee Valley.
