Late afternoon on Friday 4th April and the stop block is in position on the site of the temporary platform.
This is possibly the last track laying session for now as space is required for materials and the building of this platform.
This is certainly a joyous sight for the people of Corwen who have long awaited the return of trains.
A big thanks surely goes to the dedicated band of volunteers who have in the last six months cleared the phase 2 site of trees and vegetation before laying track from Bonwm Halt to bridge 28, cleared the cutting beyond the bridge before laying another half mile of track through to the western edge of the platform site.
That's the majority of the track work done for now, so what next?
The building of the platform, top ballasting of the last half mile of track, hire in the tamper before a visit from the railway inspector....sort out an alternative access road to the sewage plant before filling in the gap in the track bed and then work on phase 2 can commence.

Earlier this week a fixed distant signal was erected west of Bridge 28, further enhancing the view from the A5 main road.
More sleepers have arrived at the platform site in readiness for the final few panels of track still to be laid....a new stack of sleepers can also be seen on the phase 2 site.
A further 1000+ tons of top ballast are still required for the track so please consider a donation towards the cost.
