CORWEN RAILWAY SOCIETY

 

The CRS was inaugurated on Wednesday 19th June 2013, at an open meeting in the Corwen Sports Pavilion.

 

Aims of the CRS:

 

To consolidate and focus the considerable interest and support for the Railway Project that exists within the local community.

 

To assist the Llangollen Railway in all aspects of the Corwen Extension Project (per the Transport and Works Order authorized August 2011).

 

To secure and conserve railway artifacts for use in the Corwen Railway Project.

 

To encourage the adoption of a heritage approach in designs, restoration and building works

 

To support the concept and operation of the Corwen Railway Museum.

 

To support the ambitions for the Regeneration of Corwen Town and the wider Dee Valley area via its Railway.

 

Identify and where possible protect parcels of derelict or unused ex-railway land and structures that could be put back to productive use in connection with the above.

 

The next meeting will be held at the Harp Hotel, Corwen Square, at a date to be notified.
